Fashion icon and actress Temi Otedola has shared a candid and rather humorous look into her marriage with music superstar Mr Eazi, revealing how they navigate disagreements behind closed doors. During a recent episode of their joint podcast, Temi opened up about her husband’s unique way of handling conflict, which often involves digital messages rather than face-to-face confrontation.
The actress recounted a specific Monday morning when she realized her husband was upset with her—not through a conversation, but via a lengthy email. What made the situation particularly striking was that the couple was sitting in the same apartment at the time. Temi explained that while she was busy tending to her own business and responding to work emails, she received a detailed message from Tosin—as she fondly calls him—listing everything she had done to upset him.
Temi admitted to feeling a surge of frustration as she read the message, especially since she had repeatedly asked him earlier if anything was wrong, only to be told everything was fine. She described the behavior as a bit childish, noting that sitting in the same space while communicating through a screen felt unnecessary. However, she acknowledged that this seems to be the medium through which her husband feels most comfortable expressing his true feelings.
Mr Eazi, responding to the lighthearted critique, was quick to defend his method. He admitted that while he would prefer to talk things out in person, he often finds it difficult to get straight to the point during verbal discussions. For the singer, writing out his thoughts allows him to be more precise and, more importantly, to keep his emotions in check.
Mr Eazi explained that he worries about sounding too harsh if he speaks while he is still angry. By typing out an email, he can review his words, cross-check his tone, and ensure he is saying exactly what he means without the heat of the moment taking over. He noted that while texting someone sitting right next to you might not be the standard approach, everyone has a different communication style that they need to embrace.
The conversation between the two highlights the relatable hurdles many modern couples face when trying to find a balance between digital habits and emotional transparency. While Temi expressed that she would much rather “have it out” in a face-to-face sit-down, she seems to have found a way to work with her husband’s preference for the written word. It’s a glimpse into the private life of one of Nigeria’s most famous couples, proving that even for them, communication remains a work in progress.
