Truecaller Hits 500 Million Users in Global War on Spam Calls

Zoyols News

Truecaller has reached a historic milestone in the digital communication space, officially surpassing 500 million users worldwide. This achievement highlights the growing global demand for tools that foster trust and security in an era increasingly plagued by scams and unsolicited communication.

The platform’s expansion has been particularly impressive over the last year, with over 50 million new users joining in 2025 alone. Notably, the service has gained significant traction outside of its traditional stronghold in India, now boasting more than 150 million users across other international markets.  The company also hit another financial high point earlier this year by crossing 4 million paying subscribers globally.

Rishit Jhunjhunwala, the CEO of Truecaller, noted that reaching the half-billion mark is a reflection of a much larger global trend. He pointed out that as more people struggle to navigate the daily influx of spam and fraudulent calls, the need for a reliable “trust layer” has never been greater. He emphasized that the company’s focus remains on utilizing smarter technology to protect users before and after every interaction, with a clear ultimate goal of reaching one billion users.

What started as a simple Caller ID service has evolved into an essential digital utility. For hundreds of millions of people, the app is now a daily habit used to verify identities and make informed decisions about who they engage with. By helping to prevent fraud and ensuring safer messaging, the platform has embedded itself into the core of the modern phone ecosystem.

Despite managing a user base of over half a billion people, the company maintains a remarkably lean operation, powered by a team of approximately 470 employees. This efficiency allows them to stay agile as they continue to build and manage the platform for a global audience. Moving forward, Truecaller intends to keep the public updated on its growth by reporting its monthly and daily active user numbers in its regular financial updates.
