Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has stirred concern among his fans after sharing an emotional post that left many wondering if he was going through a difficult moment.
On Thursday, the actor uploaded a video of himself sitting inside what appeared to be his car while a sorrowful song played in the background. Accompanying the clip was a brief caption that simply read, “Omase oo,” a phrase that immediately caught the attention of his followers.
The post quickly attracted an outpouring of love and encouragement as many supporters filled the comment section with comforting messages and prayers.
Several fans urged him to stay strong, repeatedly assuring him that everything would be fine. Others sent words of hope, while some reminded him that difficult moments do not last and encouraged him to remain positive despite whatever challenges he might be facing.
One follower wrote, “It is well,” while another simply said, “All will be well.” Others sent messages of love and support, with one fan encouraging the actor by saying that life continues and better days still lie ahead.
The emotional post comes after a series of notable moments in Awobona’s recent life.
Not long ago, the actor celebrated overcoming one of his biggest fears after undergoing a medical procedure. Sharing photos from a hospital bed at the time, he admitted the experience was far from easy but expressed gratitude for finding the courage to face it.
Only a few days earlier, Awobona had also reacted to the backlash that followed a video in which he spoke about the country’s growing insecurity. He appealed to Nigerians to stop directing their anger at one another, revealing that his comments attracted more than a million reactions, including messages from people who wished he would become a victim himself.
The actor also recently addressed social media users who compared pregnant women with Temi Otedola. He reminded the public that every pregnancy is unique and urged people to stop using one woman’s experience to judge or shame others.
Earlier this year during the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Awobona publicly expressed his disappointment after losing both his iPhone and Samsung phone at the event. Although upset by the incident, he said he was thankful to have escaped unharmed and appreciated everyone who tried reaching out to him afterward.
Away from the controversies, the actor has continued to acknowledge those who have shaped his career. He recently paid tribute to actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele, crediting her hit television series, Jenifa’s Diary, with opening the doors that transformed his acting career. He also recalled an experience in South Africa that made him realise just how influential her platform had become.
Awobona has equally spoken proudly about his family, revealing that his father inspired his appearance in his movie Inspector Jero. Sharing a video of his father, he praised him as one of his greatest supporters and toughest critics, expressing hope that he continues to make him proud.
The actor also previously joked about the demanding preparations for one of his movie roles, calling out filmmaker Abey Jomo over the strict diet he was instructed to follow for his character. Sharing part of the guidelines, he humorously questioned what he had done to deserve such tough conditions while documenting his dramatic physical transformation.
