Nollywood actress Anita Joseph’s former husband, MC Fish, has finally spoken publicly about the collapse of their marriage, opening up on the issues that affected their relationship before they went separate ways.
The celebrity hype man made the revelation while reacting to the ongoing marital conversation involving Frank Edoho. During the discussion, MC Fish admitted that infidelity happened on both sides during his marriage to Anita Joseph.
According to him, neither of them was innocent in the relationship. He claimed the actress was involved with different men during their marriage, though he refused to reveal names. He also openly admitted that he cheated as well.
MC Fish explained that despite the challenges they faced privately, he never intended to bring their marital problems to social media. He stated that many people would never have known they were no longer together if Anita had not eventually spoken publicly about the breakup.
He disclosed that he had already moved out of their home in July 2025, months before news of their separation became public in December.
Using his own experience as an example while discussing Frank Edoho’s marital situation, MC Fish said he chose to completely leave behind every relationship and attachment connected to his failed marriage once he walked away from it. According to him, he decided to begin life again with a fresh mindset rather than continue with anyone he had been involved with during the marriage.
He maintained that cheating cannot be used to fix cheating, adding that some people defending infidelity in marriages may not fully understand the emotional weight and commitment that come with such unions.
Speaking further, he said, “In my marriage, both parties cheated. I cheated on Anita Joseph, and she cheated on me too with countless people. If I begin to mention names, everybody will pause. When I left the marriage, I ended every relationship connected to it. I moved on with my life with a clean slate and a new person, not with the women I cheated with. I left the house in July 2025.”
Back in December last year, Anita Joseph publicly confirmed that her marriage had ended. At the time, she spoke about going through a difficult season filled with pain, healing, reflection, and emotional growth. She noted that life sometimes tests people in unexpected ways, especially in marriage, but she was choosing grace, faith, and personal growth moving forward.
Reports later emerged claiming the five year union had been struggling with serious personal and emotional difficulties. Sources alleged that the actress suffered heartbreaking pregnancy losses, including a stillbirth and a miscarriage, while also facing domestic violence challenges during the marriage.
Following the separation, Anita Joseph made it clear that she was single and not interested in another relationship anytime soon. She revealed that several men had been reaching out to her but insisted she needed time for herself after spending over eight years in the marriage.
The actress also reacted to people pressuring her to publicly tell her side of the story. She questioned why many seemed desperate to hear details about her private life while ignoring their own personal matters. Anita urged people to respect boundaries and allow others heal privately.
In another message shared online, she dismissed expectations that she would grant interviews or openly discuss the failed marriage, saying her focus was simply on herself and her peace of mind.
MC Fish has since moved on with another woman identified as Gbemso.
Earlier this year, photos and videos of the pair circulated widely online and triggered criticism from social media users, with some accusing him of moving on too quickly after the breakup.
Reacting to the backlash, MC Fish argued that society often judges men differently in relationships. He claimed that when women leave relationships and find new partners, many people describe it as finding happiness, but when men do the same, they are often accused of cheating or betrayal.
Gbemso also addressed the criticism surrounding their relationship. She denied allegations that she was responsible for breaking up the marriage, insisting that MC Fish was already single when they met.
According to her, both of them had experienced relationships where they felt unappreciated before finding each other. She described their relationship as genuine and questioned why some people labeled MC Fish a gold digger despite his constant support and care for her.
