Nigerian relationship expert Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has shared a candid update on her battle with breast cancer. Speaking during an Instagram live session with Daddy Freeze, she revealed that she was diagnosed at a Nigerian hospital but is unsure of her exact stage, as it wasn’t clearly stated in her report.
Blessing discovered a lump in July last year and learned in early January that it was cancerous. She began preparing for a mastectomy to determine how far the disease had progressed, though she isn’t ready to share her hospital report publicly just yet.
When questioned about the cost of her surgery, Blessing admitted she didn’t have a fixed amount in mind. This prompted a lawyer on Instagram Live to question why she was seeking public donations. She clarified that she was planning for the financial uncertainty of treatment, which could include additional procedures and therapy, and admitted she may have exaggerated the figures when reaching out for support.
Earlier reports suggested Blessing was battling stage 4 cancer, and in an Instagram video, she revealed the emotional toll, admitting she was scared and tired of trying to stay strong. She described living in denial despite packing her bags for the hospital, highlighting her fear as someone who rarely falls sick and is not used to frequent hospital visits.
Blessing has faced skepticism online. Sarah Martins accused her of faking the illness to raise money for her partner IVD’s business, claiming the couple were struggling financially and seeking sympathy. Critics also referenced Blessing’s past controversies, suggesting her brand was built on exaggeration and manipulation.
Despite the doubts, Blessing received support from unexpected quarters. Mama Jazz, sister of IVD’s late wife, donated N1 million toward her treatment, emphasizing her foundation’s commitment to helping women fight cancer.
Blessing CEO rose to prominence following a controversial house video that sparked widespread attention, and now she is navigating public scrutiny alongside her personal health battle, sharing her story with transparency and courage.
