China Congratulates Nigeria on 65th Independence Anniversary

China has extended warm congratulations to Nigeria as the country marked its 65th Independence anniversary.

In a message posted on his official X account, China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhaa, described the occasion as particularly symbolic, noting that both nations share October 1 as a historic day — Nigeria’s Independence Day and China’s National Day. According to him, this unique connection has continued to strengthen the ties between the two countries.

Yu commended Nigeria’s resilience and growth over the past six and a half decades, highlighting the strides the nation has made in development despite challenges. He stressed that the relationship between China and Nigeria, built as a comprehensive strategic partnership, has yielded concrete benefits for the citizens of both nations through cooperation across diverse sectors.

“As we celebrate this milestone together, China remains firmly committed to deepening our collaboration,” the envoy said. “We look forward to expanding our joint efforts in promoting peace, development, and prosperity, while building a China-Nigeria community with a shared future.”
