Olakunle Churchill has stepped forward to address widespread online conversations surrounding a viral billboard photo that featured him, his ex-wife Tonto Dikeh, and their son. The businessman and philanthropist decided to clear the air after social media users began speculating about the origin and meaning of the billboard, which was mounted along the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos. The public attention grew after many assumed he was the one behind the project, with some even directing criticism toward his wife, Rosy Meurer.
Through his Instagram story, Churchill shared details explaining that the billboard was not his personal project. Instead, he revealed that it was a thoughtful gift from a close friend who wanted to celebrate his son’s milestone. To support his explanation, he posted screenshots of conversations with the individual, where it was clearly stated that the billboard was created as a birthday tribute to his child. The gesture was simply meant to honour his son rather than stir public conversation about family relationships.
The situation comes at a time when Churchill appears focused on protecting his marriage and maintaining a peaceful public image around his personal life. Recently, the former couple had celebrated their son’s tenth birthday with a grand celebration attended by several prominent personalities. Guests included well-known entertainers, business figures, and friends of the family, all gathered to celebrate the young boy’s special day.
During the celebration, Tonto Dikeh publicly acknowledged Churchill’s role as a father, describing him as an amazing parent while also expressing positive wishes for his future. She shared emotional messages of goodwill, stating that she prays for his success in business, family life, and personal growth. The message was widely interpreted as a sign of maturity and mutual respect between the former couple.
However, reactions on social media intensified shortly after the celebration when Rosy Meurer’s online activity sparked discussions. Many fans noticed that she had unfollowed Churchill after he publicly celebrated his son’s birthday with Tonto. This led to speculation about possible tension within the marriage, though Rosy later moved to address the rumours directly.
In a series of videos shared across her social media platforms, Rosy dismissed claims that she had snatched Churchill from Tonto Dikeh. She explained that she had never had a personal relationship with Tonto and that she met Churchill independently. She also emphasized that online narratives about her past were largely inaccurate and unfair.
She further stated that she had been aware of the reconciliation and peaceful co-parenting relationship between Churchill and Tonto before it became public knowledge. According to her, she had supported the arrangement from the beginning, stressing that people often misunderstand private family dynamics. During a live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, she clarified that there was never an official introduction where Tonto was presented to her as Churchill’s wife.
Rosy also mentioned that her husband encouraged her to speak publicly to correct false narratives surrounding their relationship. She maintained that she fully supports Churchill’s role as a father to his son and respects his relationship with his child’s mother. The couple’s recent public discussions appear to reflect their desire to control the narrative surrounding their family life while maintaining harmony within their household and public image.
