Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has been ruled out for at least one to two weeks after suffering an ankle injury during Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Uyo.
Galatasaray confirmed on Tuesday that scans conducted at its partner hospital in Istanbul revealed a moderate sprain, with stretching and bleeding detected in the ankle ligaments. Club doctors have already commenced treatment aimed at speeding up his recovery and return to action.
The MRI was carried out under the supervision of Galatasaray’s team doctor, Dr. Yener İnce. Reports from Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük indicate that Osimhen will not feature in the club’s next fixture against Eyüpspor, with Barış Alper expected to step in as lead striker.
His availability for the upcoming clash against Frankfurt will be determined after further medical assessments in the coming days.
