Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged President Bola Tinubu to take bold and swift action against the escalating insecurity in Nigeria. Addressing concerns sparked by President Donald Trump’s threats of military action, Adeboye warned that if the US were to intervene militarily, neither Russia nor China would come to Nigeria’s defense.
Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye emphasized the urgency of the situation, insisting that Nigeria cannot afford any delay in tackling terrorism. He advised President Tinubu to negotiate a 100-day diplomatic window with Trump, allowing Nigerian security agencies to effectively address the crisis.
Recalling previous counsel given to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Adeboye stressed the need for decisive leadership and for security chiefs to eliminate not only terrorists but also their powerful sponsors. “No one is above the law. Sponsors must be held accountable,” he asserted.
Adeboye warned that failure to act decisively would only deepen the crisis and invite foreign military involvement, something he strongly opposed. He called on the President to give security chiefs a strict ultimatum: resolve the security challenges within 90 days or step down.
Highlighting the sanctity of human life, Adeboye condemned politicizing the issue or shifting blame, urging leaders to prioritize the safety and well-being of Nigerians. His message is clear: swift, wise, and diplomatic action is essential to restore peace and protect the nation.
