Aiyedatiwa’s Aide Applauds Ajulo’s Impact on Ondo Justice System

Comrade Olufemi Lawson, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Public Enlightenment, has expressed high praise for the appointment of Kayode Ajulo, SAN, as the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. In a statement detailed by Reports, Lawson described the move as a masterstroke of visionary governance by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, noting that the Governor’s foresight in selecting a seasoned legal advocate has effectively redefined the leadership of the Ministry of Justice.

According to Lawson, Ajulo’s time in office has already sparked a series of transformative interventions aimed at making the justice system more accountable and accessible to the common man. Central to this modernization drive is the ambitious “Judiciary Village” project. This state-of-the-art complex is being designed as a functional hub for the state’s legal operations, featuring modern courtrooms and integrated spaces for judicial training. Once completed, the village will serve as a lasting symbol of the state’s dedication to timely justice and the welfare of its judicial staff.

Education and research haven’t been left behind either. Reports says that the administration is also overseeing the comprehensive remodeling of the Ondo State Law Library. By equipping the facility with contemporary research materials and digital information systems, the state is providing law officers, prosecutors, and judges with the tools needed for high-quality, informed decision-making.

On the legislative front, Ajulo’s leadership has focused on tightening the grip on crime. This includes pushing for reforms that establish clearer definitions and stiffer penalties for serious offenses such as kidnapping, cultism, and rape. These updates to the state’s anti-crime statutes are intended to serve as a stronger deterrent and ensure that the justice system reflects modern societal values and the gravity of such crimes.

Furthermore, the Ministry is making significant strides in grassroots justice. By appointing more customary court judges, the state is expanding access to legal resolution at the community level. This pragmatic approach not only helps reduce the backlog of cases but also ensures that dispute resolution remains culturally attuned to the traditions of the people.

Lawson highlighted that Ajulo’s deep roots in civil society and pro-democracy movements have brought a unique level of transparency to the government. He emphasized that under the “OUR EASE” agenda, the Attorney General is expected to keep pushing for judicial efficiency and infrastructure growth. For the people of Ondo, these reforms signal a new era where justice is not just a concept, but a well-oiled, accessible public trust.
